Julie Bubar has been passionate about art forever. She received a
Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Southern California, and a
Photographic Bachelor of Arts from Brooks Institute of Photography in
Santa Barbara. With these skills, she spent time working at the Long
Beach Museum of Art and Stanford University Medical Center in pathology
photography. Other highlights; assisting renown photographer Irving
Penn in New York City.
Returning to La Jolla, CA she
photographed and documented the artist Niki de Saint Phalle. Niki sent
her to Taravichio, Italy to photograph her Tarot Garden. Her equipment
at that time was clunky, Sinar 4x5 Camera, Hasselblad 2 1/4, and Nikon
35MM, film cameras.
Julie has moved on to digital media
and mixed media paintings. She is ever evolving, and now has followed
her dog, “Walle” to Del Mar Dog Beach. Participating in the situations
of dogs, sniffing, smiling, running and swimming, spiked her curiosity.
Her silent pretty mixed media paintings 8"x10", magazine size, depict
these noisy, lively entertaining animals of nature.
Julie
is trying to be the art, rather than talk about art. Her art is
creamy, playful and amusing. There is always a visual story to be told,
a true spirit of an artist.
An artist’s reception will
be hosted oin February 9th, between the hours of 5 – 7:30pm at the Off
